The Parklane Foundation's annual Golfathon returned for its fifth year, and what an incredible day it was.
On 18th June, twelve determined golfers arrived at Leeds Golf Centre before dawn, ready to take on one of the toughest challenges in amateur golf: playing 72 holes in a single day.
With an early 4:30am tee off, the team set out on a challenge that would see them complete four full rounds of golf, walk more than 25 miles and spend over 15 hours on the course. It would take determination, resilience and plenty of encouragement, but every golfer crossed the finish line.
This year's Golfathon was made even more special by the participation of two remarkable 12 year olds. Showing incredible maturity, perseverance and passion throughout the day, they completed all 72 holes alongside the adult golfers, inspiring everyone involved with their commitment and enthusiasm.
The Golfathon has grown into one of the Parklane Foundation's flagship fundraising events. Now in its fifth year, it continues to bring together colleagues, friends, supporters and the wider community, all united by one goal: raising money to make a meaningful difference.
This year, the funds raised will support our Charity Partner of the Year, Koaala.
Koaala is transforming lives by making comfortable, affordable prosthetics accessible to children and adults around the world. Their innovative approach enables people with limb differences to enjoy everyday activities with greater comfort, confidence and independence.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated, sponsored and supported the challenge, we're delighted to announce that Golfathon 2026 raised more than £12,000.
Every pound raised will help support Koaala's life changing work, helping more people access prosthetic solutions that improve quality of life and open up new opportunities.
Events like the Golfathon demonstrate the power of community. Whether you donated, shared our fundraising campaign, came along to cheer the golfers on or helped behind the scenes, you played an important part in making the day such a success.
A huge thank you goes to our nine golfers for their commitment, determination and fundraising efforts. Taking on 72 holes in one day is no easy feat, and every participant should be immensely proud of what they achieved.
As we celebrate another successful Golfathon, we're already looking ahead to next year. After five fantastic years, this challenge continues to grow, and with the support of our community, we hope to make an even bigger impact in 2027.
From everyone at the Parklane Foundation, thank you for helping us build better futures and for making Golfathon 2026 our most successful event yet.
